About this launch
Kosmos 154 was a second uncrewed 7K-L1P prototype for the Zond circumlunar programme, meant to be sent onto a high trajectory by the Blok D stage. The ullage motors jettisoned prematurely, the Blok D never ignited, and the spacecraft stayed in low orbit and decayed two days later.
