About this launch
Zond 6 was an uncrewed Soyuz 7K-L1 that flew around the Moon at about 2,420 km and photographed the near and far sides. The cabin depressurised on the way home and the parachute released early, so the capsule crashed in Kazakhstan, although the film was recovered.
