Fobos-Grunt & Yinghuo-1
Fobos-Grunt was a Russian sample-return mission to the Martian moon Phobos, carrying China's Yinghuo-1 Mars orbiter as a passenger. The spacecraft's propulsion stage never fired to leave Earth orbit and it re-entered over the Pacific in January 2012.
