About this launch

Palapa-D was an Indonesian communications satellite for Indosat, built by Thales Alenia Space with C-band and Ku-band transponders. The Long March 3B third stage underperformed, leaving it in a low orbit, and the satellite consumed its own propellant to reach geostationary orbit at reduced lifetime.
