Yaogan 33R is a Chinese military reconnaissance satellite launched from Jiuquan into sun-synchronous orbit, understood to replace the Yaogan 33 satellite lost in a 2019 Long March 4C failure. Yaogan is the public designation China gives to its military reconnaissance satellites; official statements describe them only as remote-sensing spacecraft for land survey, crop estimation and disaster monitoring.
