Gaofen 1 is the first satellite of China's civilian high-resolution Earth-observation system (CHEOS), combining a 2 m panchromatic camera with wide-swath multispectral imagers. Three small satellites rode along: Turkey's TÜRKSAT-3USAT, Argentina's CubeBug-1 and Ecuador's NEE-01 Pegaso.
